London Test Event

Just thought I would send you an update as we go into the first campaign of the Olympic year.
We arrived in London on Sunday after a great week training in Invercargill. Its -5 degrees here with snow on the ground. The only thing not to make it with all our equipment was our nutritional supplements, so we have had to get a whole new set over here. All of the World Cup teams are staying at the same hotel, so it definitely has an Olympic feel to it. We are all transported to the velodrome by bus which takes 30 minutes. Security is very tight. The Olympic site is still very much a construction zone, but the velodrome is amazing. We have now had 2 trainings and the riders like the track.
Yesterday I did 8 massages and followed it up with 4 today. We are very particular about making sure the athletes recover as quickly as possible, so are precise with the recovery protocols.
We start on Thursday and head back to New Zealand on Monday morning.

Physiotherapy and Podiatry services will be provided by Mark Hollands and Simon Wheeler. Two experienced practitioners who provide and utilise the latest treatment techniques and methods.

Our thoughts and sympathy are with all of the Active Health community who have suffered tragic losses during the Christchurch earthquakes. The future of QEII stadium is uncertain as a team reviews the feasibility of repairing or rebuilding. In an effort to continue to provide treatment to our clients who will all be affected by the earthquake we are operating at 39a Rutland Street (the block between Innes road and St Albans Street, the back house). We are working on securing a new permanent premise and we will post details as soon as we have confirmation.
