Our Philosophy
Active Health QEII was established in 1999 to provide expert sports medicine care in a multi-disciplinary environment, including some of New Zealand’s best and most experienced health providers.
By offering a wide range of services such as sports physicians, sports doctors, physio’s, podiatrists and chiropractors, mental conditioning and nutritionists in the one place, all the health providers involved in your care can all work together to ensure you make the best possible recovery.
Consultants at Active Health QEII encourage their clients to take responsibility for their own health especially in the areas of exercise, nutrition and stress management and can provide a unique support environment utilising the excellent resources and sports facilities at QEII Sports Stadium.
This approach can be applied to anyone, whether you want advice about an injury sustained at work or play, or you are an elite athlete.
Facilities
We are based at the QEII Sports Stadium in Christchurch and have full access to all of QEII’s facilities to assist in patient rehabilitation and their return to normal activities. These include:
- Indoor pool facilities with a 50m Olympic Size Pool, a diving pool, 25m training pool, a large wave pool along with poolside spa’s & saunas.
- An international standard 400m running track and athletics field.
- Training gyms and exercise classes.
QEII Sports Stadium also houses soccer and rugby fields, a first class cricket pitch and is next door to Ascot Golf Park, including a nine hole golf course, driving range and mini-golf.
Other resources within 2km from the Stadium is New Brighton beach, a popular surf location; as well as Bottle Lake Forest, a large recreational area with tracks for walking, running and mountain biking.
